Box Canyon

The box is open for business. There have been a handful of salmon flies where the buffalo comes in. That means its rubber legs time in the box. There are also a good number of blue wings and I have noticed a handful of Mother’s Day caddis. I would stick with the usual recipe for success in the box. Rubber legs and small beads. Make sure to come into the shop and see the new flies for the 2020 season. We have some really cool new quill flies.

Lower River

The lower river should really fish well over the next little bit. The salmon fly is due to make an appearance any minute. The Fish and Game has lifted the non-resident license restriction so get on up here and enjoy some fishing. With the big bugs come the crowds. Be good to one another and keep your distance. I would have henry’s fork foam stones and lots of rubber legs! There are also some March brown and caddis around. I would be ready for just about any sort of weather conditions! You will most likely see a little of everything! Snow, sleet, rain, wind, sun plan on the works! We are taking every precaution that we can to keep our customers and employees safe. We have gloves available and plenty of hand sanitizer. Our shop help will have gloves and at a minimum a buff or mask. Covid aside it sure is a great time of the year to be up here. Come up and enjoy some social distancing with a fly rod in your hand!

Please be safe and also be considerate of your fellow man.

South Fork

The South Fork is running 15500 and the fishing has not been too bad. I would have some San Juan worms and some hot heads in #14 and #16. I would make sure to have a handful of rubber legs to! Plan on getting down and dirty.
