Depending on the weather, fishing is going to start getting good...really good.

Upper Henry’s Fork – Box Canyon
This section is open year-round.
Flows are still holding steady at 500 CFS! Island Park Reservoir is just over 80 percent full which is still outstanding.
Flies to use in the Box Canyon will remain the same over the course of next several months including Baetis nymphs, zebra midges, leeches, and egg patterns.
This section is now only accessible using snowshoes or a snowmobile if wanting to drag your drift boat in and out. Please be careful if accessing the river. Combining the difficult access with frigid air and water temperatures are a good way for hypothermia to set in if anyone goes for a swim.
Remember that we do rent snowshoes for anyone looking for a little adventure. The Box Canyon is absolutely stunning during the winter and chances are that you’ll have complete solitude while on the river.
Upper Henry’s Fork – Last Chance & Harriman Ranch to Riverside Campground
There has been reports of some good midge action and early BWO action in the Last Chance area across from the fly shop.
Harriman State Park is now closed to fishing and will open on June 15th.
Middle Henry’s Fork – Riverside Campground to the Ashton Dam
The section of river from Warm River to Ashton is open year-round.
Once again, the flies to use will remain the same over the course of next several months including Baetis nymphs, zebra midges, and egg patterns. Leeches will also become very productive.
Lower Henry’s Fork – Ashton Dam to St. Anthony
The river is closed to fishing from the Ashton Dam down to the Vernon Bridge. This section will open to fishing on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend.
The river below Vernon Bridge is open to fishing and has been productive using egg patterns, zebra midges, and Rick's Tungstens. Leeches will also become very productive.
Lower Henry’s Fork – St. Anthony to Confluence
Flies to use include Baetis nymphs, zebra midges, small rubberlegs, and eggs.
Henry’s Fork Tributaries
Warm River and Fall River are open year-round with catch and release policies now in effect through the Friday before Memorial Day weekend.
Use egg patterns, zebra midges, and small pheasant tails.
Madison River
The section between Hebgen Dam and the Quake Lake inlet is open year-round.
From the Quake Lake outlet down to McAtee Bridge is now closed until the third Saturday in May.
McAtee Bridge to Ennis Bridge is open year-round.
Ennis Bridge to Ennis Lake is now closed until the third Saturday in May.
From the Ennis Dam to the mouth is open year-round.
Area Lakes
All lakes are now iced over. We don’t know anything about ice fishing.
South Fork of the Snake
Flows are still holding steady around 3,000 CFS! Palisades Reservoir is just over 85 percent full which is still outstanding.
Flies to use include Baetis nymphs, zebra midges, leeches, and eggs. There has also been reports of good midge fishing around the Heise Bridge area. Start looking for BWO as well.
Yellowstone National Park
Closed to fishing. Will open on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend.
